Client Success Stories

Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Nashville VA Medical Center

In September of 2006, HST Corporate Interiors presented a proposal to update the nurse stations from a modular standpoint in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) of the Nashville VA Medical Center. As the project evolved so did Corporate Interiors role. They not only outfitted the nurse stations as originally planned, but also 13 critical care rooms, and fulfilled any additional needs for the overall renovation of the SICU.

Headwalls and articulating service manager pendants were installed in the patient rooms to ease bedside care.  Also, a full size wall product and breakaway doors were used to create patient rooms. Finally, privacy glass that could be turned on and off was installed on the outside of nurse and patient servers.  Upon its successful completion in 2007, VA officials have used the SICU as an example for other VA hospitals and have continued to bring in representatives from around the country.

Criminal Investigation Unit: Internal Revenue Service

Although the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has been a client of HST Corporate Interiors for over six years, their most recent endeavor was the renovation of Criminal Investigation Unit in Nashville, TN. HST Corporate Interiors played several roles in the development of this project.  They acted as a consultant and pulled together products from a multitude of GSA approved vendors, arranged simultaneous presentations in one location, assisted in narrowing down the field, and then coordinated three bids. HST CI also helped to determine what the project budget would be. Once the decision-makers made their final selection, HST CI arranged for renderings of the project to be created and worked directly with IRS designers and the procurement office.

Some of the products included in the renovation were:  Kimball Xsite Workstations, Kimball Traxx and Tiles in the mailroom, Kimball Casegoods for private offices, Mayline Height Adjustable Tables for ergonomics, Mayline High Density Mobile Shelving and Storage Units for the evidence rooms, as well as Tennsco Shelving.  Also, the IRS currently holds a B.P.A.. contract with Knoll seating, so HST CI arranged this order as well.  Instead of working with four different manufacturers, the IRS only dealt with one point of contact which worked cohesively with the IRS officials and saved them a significant amount of time and money.
